16 young men from Harahan who have perished in various conflicts around the world since the city's founding in 1920.
With the need for more space, the City has created a new "Park of Heroes" Memorial at the larger Soniat Park.
Seven from Harahan never returned to our shores. Buried on foreign soil or lost at sea – they are memorialized here by the flags flown over the ground or sea where they will rest forever, so that we may never forget the heavy price of war and conflict.
Nine from Harahan sacrificed themselves so that we may enjoy the beauty of this park. Surrounded by Japanese Magnolias, Kwanzan Blossoms and majestic Oaks, their stories are told to all.
